私は自分の胸を見る。
I look at my breast

沖にいる水鳥が羽ばたくようにそでを広げ、私は自分自身を見る。
Like a water bird in the offing and I look at myself by spreading both sleeves like a bird's flapping wings.

この衣装は私には似合わない。
This wardrobe does not suit me.

私が、この黒い衣装を背後に投げ捨てるとき
When I throw off this wardrobe behind me

波は穏やかになっていく。
As waves coming to the beach subside backwards

そして私は、私の青い衣装を着る。
And I wear my blue wardrobe

かわせみのような青い衣装。
Like a feather of a kingfisher,

私は、私の胸を見る。
I look at my breast

沖合いの水鳥のように。
Like a water bird in the offing

そして私は自分自身を見る。
And I look at myself

鳥が羽ばたくように、そでを拡げ。
By spreading both sleeves like a bird's flapping wings.


こちらの衣装も、私には似合わない。
This wardrobe does not suit me, either.

私がこの衣装を背後に投げ捨てるとき
When I throw off this wardrobe behind me

海岸の波は静まりかえる。
As waves coming to a beach subside backwards

そして私は私の深い青色の衣装を着る。
And I wear my deep blue wardrobe




Dyed with the sap of indigo plants
藍色の樹液で染められた

俺「まあ、とにかく、話長いんで、その辺でやめといて、安曇族が出雲族だったかもしれないというんだな？」
