前回のつづき
Sequel to the last article.

彼女は話し始めた。
She started to tell the story.

「神話によると、日本は3つの世界に別れていたのよ。高天原はアマテラスが、中つ国は大国主が治めていたわ。」
" According to the myth, Japan was divided into three worlds.

『高天原』という神々の住む天上界。
The heaven where dwelling place of the kami named ' Takama-ga-hara ( Plain of High Heaven )'.

『中つ国』という人間の住む世界。
The earth where living palace of human named ' Naka-tsu-kuni ( middle country ) '.

黄泉の国という『死者の世界』。
The land of the dead (World of Darkness) named ' Yomi (Yellow springs) '.

Amaterasu ruled Takama-ga-hara(Heaven), and O-kuni-nushi ruled Naka-tsu-kuni(earth).



アマテラスは言ったわ。「米が実り、豊かに繁栄している中つ国は、我が一族が治めるべきである。」
Amaterasu said, "Naka-tsu-kuni(earth) where in rice grows in abundance for ever, should be governed by our famiiy."

そして、アマテラスは高天原から一人の神アメノシホミミを中つ国に派遣させたの。
So, she entrusted a kami, Ameno-shiho-mimi, with this task and sent him down to the Naka-tsu-kuni(earth) from Takama-ga-hara(Heaven).

中つ国と高天原の途中にある、天の浮橋に立つと彼は言ったわ。
On his way down to earth he stood on the Heavenly-floating-bridge set between the heaven and the earth and said,

「中つ国は騒がしい。」
"Naka-tsu-kuni(earth) is in disorder."

彼はその騒がしさに嫌気がさして高天原に引き返してしまったの。
He went up again to the Takama-ga-hara(Heaven) and asked Amaterasu for guidance."

それから、アマテラスは高天原の全ての神を高天原の川岸に召集して、オモイカネの神とどうするか考察したのよ。
Then Amaterasu ordered all the heavenly kami to assemble at the river side of Takama-ga-hara(heaven) and made Omoikane, a kami, consider what to do.

彼女は言ったわ。「中つ国を統治するため私はアメノシホミミを送った。だが、偉大な神が地上を統括する必要があるようだ。
She said, " Naka-tsu-kuni is a country whose reign I left to Ameno-shiho-mimi. But in the world there seem to be a great number of earthly kami who act tyrannically.

混乱を圧えるために私は誰を送り込むべきか？」
Who should I send in oder to suppress the disorder?"

オモイカネと全ての神々は話し合いそしてアマテラスに言ったわ。
Omoikane and all the kami consulted together and said to her.

「アメノホシの神がふさわしいでしょう。」
"Ameno-hoshi-no-kami will be suitable."

そしてアマテラスは彼を地上に送ったわ。
So she sent him down to the earth.

しかし　彼は大国主になびいてしまい、彼の娘と結婚をしてしまい、アマテラスの命令に従わず3年が過ぎたわ。
But he cajoled O-kuni-nushi-no-kami into the marriage between the daughter and himself, and had not followed the order of Amaterasu for three years.

俺はつぶやいた。
I murmured,

「3年間も放っておいたのか…(^_^;)」
They neglected him for 3 year…(^_^;)

ウドパーは続けた。
Woodper continued,

なので、アマテラスとオモイカネは再び多くの神を集めて言ったわ。
So Amaterasu and Omoikane called many kami together again and said to them,

「私が地上に送ったアメノ-ホシは、長い間任務を放棄し続けてしまっている。私は次に誰を地上に送り込むべきか？」
"Ameno-hoshi, who I sent to the earth, has been neglecting his duties for a long time. Who should I send down to earth next?"

オモイカネが答えたわ。「アメノ-ワカヒコなら良い仕事をするでしょう。」
Omoikane answered, "Ameno-wakahiko will be good for the task."

そこで、神々は『天の弓と矢』を彼に授けて彼を地上に送り込んだの。
So they gave him the heavenly bow and arrow, and sent him down.

でも、アメノ-ワカヒコは、地上に降りてすぐに、大国主の娘、シタテル姫と結婚したわ。そして自分自身が地上を治めようと思い始めたのよ。そしてアマテラスの命令を無視して8年間が過ぎたわ。」
But, as soon as he came down to earth, Ameno-wakahiko married princess Shitateru, a daughter of O-kuni-nushi, plotted to make the land his own, and would not follow the order of Amaterasu for eight years."

「8年間？そんなに！？　…アマテラスは結構のんきな神だな(^-^)」
"Eight years!? Really? I think that Amaterasu is an easygoing kami."

「今の時代と違って物事が進むスピードがゆっくりだったのよ。その時代、人々の生活や文化の進歩もゆっかりだったわ。今と違って。」
" I think that everything was advancing slowly unlike present day. In that time, also human's live and growth of culture advancing slowly, unlike in modern times. "

「なるほど…。それにしても2柱の神とも、大国主の娘と結婚してしまうとは。大国主というのは何の力を持っているんだ？」
"I see…. However two kamis both married daughter of O-kuni-nushi. What kind of power does O-kuni-nushi had?"

「大国主は特別な力は何も持っていなかったわ。力が強いわけでもないし、魔法が使えるわけでもない。でも彼には人望があったのよ。人を惹きつける魅力があったのね。」
" O-kuni-nishi don't have spcial abilty. He doesn't have strength, and magic. But he has popularity. He had an attractive personality. "

「カリスマってやつか？」
" Is it said 'Charisma' ? "

「そうね。大国主は『カリスマ神』と言ってもいいかもね。それと彼はプレイボーイでもあったのよ。」
" Yeah. I think so and we can say that O-kuni-nushi is 'Charismatic kami'. Adding that he was playboy. "

I asked to her with own eyes shining.

「プレイボーイ…だと!?」
" Is he…a playboy!? "
